In order to bring professional baseball back to Myrtle Beach, a facility was needed to house the Atlanta Braves Class A affiliated team. The design was required to handle a diversity of programmatic needs—baseball field, seating bowl, playground, clubhouses, youth plaza, vehicular and pedestrian access, and concessions areas. Because Myrtle Beach has such a high tourist population, the ballpark design had to both contribute to the local community and become a destination for the families visiting the area. The Myrtle Beach Ballpark is a state-of-the-art facility that unites the community, provides multiple spaces that can be used year-round, and serves as a beautiful destination for both tourists and residents of Myrtle Beach.
